Since every object has a container, it isn't really possible for two objects to share the same sub-object. (In other object systems, two different objects can each have instance variables that refer to the same object.) If you're thinking of the file system analogy, there are no hard links.

Objects in Wheat can refer to other objects (rather than contain them) by links. These are like symbolic links in a file system: In fact they can be set so that trying to access the link automatically accesses the thing linked to.

For example, accessing

automatically accesses
  /home/markl/blog/2003-11-02

Links in Wheat are just URLs. They can be absolute or relative. They can even point to objects on other servers.
